Wodonga weaner sales kick off for their second week
The Border Mail
The second week of weaner sales, held in the NVLX complex at Barnawartha, has kicked off with 1,870 Hereford/Euro and other breeds listed by Wodonga agents Corcoran Parker.
Among featured lines, 110 Hereford steers, account Brooklyn Pastoral Co, Mansfield, were for sale, along with many other lines by vendors who offered their weaners at this sale each year.
Glenalbyn Props, “Dromore Station”, Wilcannia, listed 70 Shorthorn steers, along with 30 Poll Hereford heifers, and Rangan Charolais, Charleroi, Victoria, listed 30 Charolais/Angus steers.
The annual weaner sales across the south have drawn excellent yardings, and agents were confident today’s offering would meet vendor and buyer expectations.
Good quality led to solid prices in the first of the all breeds calf sales at the Northern Victorian Livestock Exchange (NVLX) Barnarwartha saleyard.
Corcoran Parker, Wodonga, offered a modest yarding of 1870 steers and heifers, which did include some yearlings.
Most of the cattle had been weaned, and weaned well with conformation and condition a stand out.
